Author Guidelines
1. General Regulations
Language
Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Political Theory must be written in Vietnamese, using Unicode font and the Latin script. In cases where references are cited in non-Latin scripts, they must be transliterated into the Latin alphabet.
Copyright and Data Usage Conditions
The Journal does not accept or use any manuscript in which part or all of the content has been previously published in other journals, books, or media.
Authors are responsible for not submitting their manuscripts to other journals while awaiting a decision from the Editorial Board.
Authors bear full responsibility for the content, accuracy (including citations), and legal copyright compliance of their manuscripts. All data used in the manuscript must be clearly and accurately cited.
Authorship
If a manuscript has more than one author, a corresponding author must be clearly designated to communicate with the Editorial Board throughout the editorial and peer review process.

Publication Fees
The Journal does not charge any fees to authors throughout the submission, peer review, editorial processing, and publication stages.
2. Manuscript Formatting
Technical Requirements
- Prepared using Microsoft Word
- Font: Times New Roman (Unicode)
- Font size: 14
- Line spacing: 1.5 lines
- Top margin: 2 cm
- Bottom margin: 2 cm
- Left margin: 3 cm
- Right margin: 2 cm
The length of manuscripts submitted to the print journal should be 4,000–6,000 words (approximately 10–14 A4 pages).
Manuscript Components
Each submission consists of two separate parts:
(i) Author Information
- Title of the article
- Full name of the author(s)
- Pen name (if applicable)
- Academic rank and degree
- Institutional affiliation
- Contact information (address, phone number, email)
- Bank account number, tax code/ID number
- Statement of copyright compliance and confirmation that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere
In the case of multiple authors, the submitting author must confirm that all co-authors agree with the submission and publication of the manuscript in the Journal.
(ii) Manuscript Content
The manuscript must conform to the standards of a scientific article.
3. Structure of a Scientific Article
- Title
- Print journal: uppercase, bold, no more than 20 words
- Electronic journal: lowercase, bold, no more than 20 words
- Abstract
- Print journal: no more than 200 words
- Electronic journal: no more than 100 words
- Keywords: 3–5 keywords directly related to the article
- Introduction / Background
- Literature Review / Theoretical Framework / Methodology
- Research Results
- Solutions / Recommendations
- Conclusion
- Notes – Citations – References
4. Presentation of Tables, Figures, and Headings
Main headings in the manuscript should be numbered using Arabic numerals: 1, 2, 3, etc.
First-level subheadings should be denoted as: a), b), c), etc.
- Tables: Data tables must be formatted using the Table function in Microsoft Word and consistently labeled as “Table.”
- Figures: Graphs, charts, and diagrams must be consistently labeled as “Figure.”
Examples: Table 1, Table 2, Figure 1, Figure 2.
Table and figure titles should be placed above and in bold. Data sources should be placed below and in italics.
Images and graphics must have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
5. Abbreviations and Citation Rules
Abbreviations
Only commonly accepted abbreviations should be used, such as: CNXH, XHCN, CNCS, CNTB, UBND, HĐND, GDP, UNESCO, ASEAN, WTO.
No more than two non-standard abbreviations should be used in a single manuscript.
Date Format
Dates should be written using hyphens. Example: 1-1-2021.
Number Format
A comma (,) is used for decimal points, and a period (.) is used for thousand separators.
Units of Measurement
The metric system should be used. Example: 1 mile (≈ 1.61 km).
In-text Citations
Citations should be numbered using Arabic numerals in parentheses: (1), (2), (3), etc.
Example:
(1) Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, Collected Works, Vol. 3, National Political Publishing House, Hanoi, 1995, p. 9.
