Social justice and human development in Vietnam today

Abstract

Social justice and human development share a close relationship, serving as both the goal and the driving force of sustainable development. Implementing the renovation line, Vietnam has achieved many successes in economic growth, poverty reduction, expanding social security, and improving the Human Development Index (HDI). Based on the analysis of data from the 2004-2024 period regarding the Gini coefficient, income disparity, poverty rate, and Human Development Index, the article clarifies the impact of ensuring social justice on human development in Vietnam; while also analyzes new opportunities and challenges for social justice and human development in the context of digital transformation and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, thereby proposing several orientations to promote sustainable development in the new period.
