The expansion of the gig economy broadens employment opportunities and enhances labor market flexibility, yet it presents significant challenges to workers. Based on analyzing relevant international standards, the article affirms that the gig economy does not create an “exception zone” beyond the scope of labor rights in particular and human rights in general. On that basis, the article proposes an approach framework and policy recommendations for Vietnam to guarantee workers’ rights in the gig economy.
